Basin Water Inc., which makes systems to treat contaminated groundwater, said it plans to go public in an initial offering of stock worth as much as $52.75 million. Details about the number of shares to be offered or an estimated price range weren't disclosed in the Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
Basin Water, based in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., has developed a wellhead treatment system that reduces groundwater contaminant levels. According to the company's June 2005 prospectus, the Environmental Protection Agency estimates that water contaminant treatment projects in the United States will spark investments totaling $53.2 billion over the next 20 years.
