Lake Arlington
The depth of Lake Arlington in Texas, is ten feet below normal and is exposed and dry in many places.
Buoys are grounded, underwater debris dries in the sun, and docks are left landlocked. Arlington Parks Department workers will close off the southern part of the lake to boat traffic.
The situation is the same all over north Texas. At Eagle Mountain Lake several diving platforms are closed, but swimmers can wade to the high metal and wood structures that were in eight feet of water last year.
The hot weather is soaking up state financial resources, with ranchers and farmers being hardest hit.
