Big Sandy Lake

Big Sandy Lake is located in Aitkin County, Minnesota. Big Sandy has a surface area of 6526 acres with a maximum depth of 84 feet. The lake contains 25 islands, and is known for its walleye fishery.

Aitkin Lake can be accessed from Big Sandy. Also, you can access smaller lakes slightly southwest of Big Sandy, such as Rat Lake and Flowage Lake. The Mississippi River and Tamarack River flow into Big Sandy Lake.
