Curly-Leaf Pondweed

curly-leaf%20pondweed.jpeg

Curly-leaf pondweed is an invasive species that forms surface mats across lakes and ponds. The plant usually drops to the lake bottom by early to mid July. Curly-leaf pondweed was the most common and severe nuisance aquatic plant in the Great Lakes region until Eurasian watermilfoil appeared. It was accidentally introduced along with the common carp.
