Clean Water Restoration Act
The Clean Water Act is now 35 years old. But, the MLPC and some federal legislators feel it's time the Clean Water Act was revised. 170 members of Congress have signed on to a Clean Water Restoration Act, to help create new rules and provide more money for enforcement of the act. President Nixon signed the Clean Water Act into law on Oct. 18, 1972, with a goal of eliminating the discharge of pollutants into most waterways.
