Lake Arrowhead
With Lake Arrowhead surrounded by fire in California, we decided to take a closer look at this lake. Lake Arrowhead is a reservoir with a surface area of approximately 780 acres.
The lake was intended to be a part of a project to provide irrigation water to the San Bernardino Valley, and construction of the dam began in 1904. The original project was halted due to litigation over water supplies to land owners on the desert side of the mountains. Construction of the dam was finally completed in 1922 by the Arrowhead Lake Company.
