Aeration Systems

The DNR in Wisconsin wants to alert people that a number of lakes in Barron and Polk counties will have aeration systems operating this winter. The aeration systems cause areas of the lakes to remain ice-free.

The lakes include: Antler, Bass, Coon, Diamond, Ice House, Camilia, King, Largon, Little Butternut, Lotus, Mckeith, South Twin and Vincent lakes in Polk County. Chain, Desair, Kirby, Prairie, and Staples lakes in Barron County. Lake users should use extra caution on these lakes because of open water.
