Aquaculture, Wave of the Future
The U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization believes aquaculture seems to be the only way to meet future demands for fish consumption as the global population increases.
By 2030 the worldwide population will increase by 2 billion people which means fish farms will have to produce 85 million tons of fish per year just to keep up with demand. 48 million tons of fish currently consumed worldwide are the product of aquaculture.
