Phosphorus in the News

Phosphorus a nutrient found in fertilizers, detergents, manure and faulty septic systems often finds its way into lakes and watersheds around the country. Now municipalities are fighting back.

See how some Michigan municipalities have taken action to combat phosphorus problems in this article. Officials have placed restrictions on fertilizer in places such as Muskegon County, Ann Arbor, East Grand Rapids, Rockford, Silver Lake, Perrysburg and Spring Lake Township.
