Horseshoe Lake is an oxbow lake formed by the waters of the Mississippi River located in Madison County, Illinois. The lake is the largest natural inland lake in the state at 2,400 acres in size. The deepest point of the lake is 54.5 feet deep. Almost every bird species in the state can be found within a mile of the lake.
