Lakes and Climate Change

A new study is underway in Minnesota to see what is happening to lakes as the average temperature in the state continues to rise. The study by Don Pereira will focus on fish populations, such as pike and walleye. In Minnesota, there are about 1,700 lakes where walleye naturally reproduce and 1,700 where the DNR has to stock the lakes. This ratio is expected to change as the average temperature of the lakes rise due to climate change.
