Michigan's DEQ Cuts Staff

Michigan’s Department of Environmental Quality has cut staff from 135 to 112, and they are looking to unload some of their responsibilities to other agencies. This has many landowners and organizations across the state concerned that they will end up increasing the problems with lakes and watersheds in the state. Also, the overall environment in the state could end up being irreversibly harmed.
