Milford Lake or Reservoir is Kansas' largest lake with 163 miles of shoreline and over 16,000 acres; the lake has a maximum depth of 65 feet. It is located west of Manhattan in the Flint Hills of Kansas. The largest natural lake in Kansas is Lake Inman at 160 acres; the lack of natural lakes in the state is due to the drainage of wetlands for agricultural purposes.
