North Dakota's Lakes

As Great Lakes water levels continue to rise due to heavy snowfall and rain this winter and spring, lakes in North Dakota are shrinking. A severe drought has gripped much of the state, and Lake Sakakawea and other lakes are well below their historical averages. This has biologists in the state concerned that fish populations will suffer due to the drought.
