Public Health Implications of the Great Lakes Areas of Concern

A revised report by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control has stated that no definitive link can be made between industrial pollution in the Great Lakes region and human health concerns. The new version of the study contradicts a draft of the report that was released in March.

Here is a quote from the report, “Available health data cannot be clearly linked to the environmental data. As a result, it is impossible to draw firm conclusions about the threat to human health from critical pollutants across the Great Lakes basin."

How a link between pollution and disease could not be found in the study seems to be a real head-scratcher.
