Iowa's Great Lakes Region

A new ecotourism agreement in Iowa's Great Lakes region will help buffer some of the runoff and pollution that can harm the water quality of lakes Okoboji, Big Spirit, Gar, Minnewashta, Little Spirit, Hottes, Marble, Center and Silver. The four mile buffer zone will help stop farm development, and prevent runoff from existing pork farms.

The aggreement was reached by some of the largest farms in Iowa along with area Lake Associations.
