Chain O' Lakes Cleanup
Water levels have crested on the Chain O’ Lakes and the Fox River in Illinois, but it will take weeks to round up bog grass and other parts of wetlands that are hampering navigation and water flow on the lakes. Close to 20 acres of debris has been seen on the surface of Grass Lake since the recent flooding. The watershed is full of garbage, pier parts and other vegetation brought by the floodwater, as well. It could take the entire summer to clean up the lakes.
