Water and Lake Safety

The Coast Guard rescued a man off Sheboygan, Wisconsin earlier this week after his raft was swept up in Lake Michigan's current. He was swept from the beach a 1/4 mile from shore, and could not make it back due to the strong wave action. This latest incident comes after a 15 year- old drowned at the same beach earlier this month.

The city of Sheboygan is now seeking new funds to enhance a beach safety program, after a series of accidents at the lake this summer.
