Lake Okeechobee Water Released

Environmentalists are worried about the release of water from Lake Okeechobee to the nearby estuaries in Florida. 36 billion gallons of water is set to be released from the lake to relieve pressure on dams and dikes, and hopefully protect vegetation in the watershed. The lake has already received record amounts of rainfall in the last month, which washed fertilizers and other pollution into the lake.
