Sea Lamprey's Pheromones

Could pheromones stop the invasion of the sea lamprey across the Great Lakes? The lamprey hormone has been shown to lure females upstream where they could be trapped. With no natural predators in the Great Lakes, this may be the only way to handle the population boom of the species.
