Ice Safety Guide

With spring approaching around the Midwest, rising temperatures will soften ice on numerous lakes in the region. It might be time for you to review safety precautions if you plan to be on any frozen body of water in the next few weeks. Read through the Minnesota DNR's guide to ice safety, here.

Did you know? Four inches of clear, newly‑formed ice may support one person on foot, while a foot or more of old, partially‑thawed ice may not.
