Mercury in California's Lakes

131 of 152 lakes surveyed for various contaminants in California are high in PCBs and mercury; and do not meet state standards. 26% of the lakes had at least one species of fish that was unsafe to eat do to high levels of mercury. The study is trying to survey a portion of the 9,000 lakes and reservoirs across the state over the next two years.
