E. Coli in Lake of the Ozarks

The DNR in Missouri is coming under fire for withholding a report from the public that showed extremely high levels of E. coli in the Lake of the Ozarks. Some levels were 19 times higher than the state standard for safe swimming.

The DNR delayed the report because they did not want the public to panic, and impact tourism in the region. The high levels were from heavy rains in May that washed waste from septic systems into the lake.
